Pure Poison at Pelhamdream (Lia)

Lia has now retired from breeding.

I brought Lia from a breeder in Hampshire with the help of my now good friend Marlene Silence of Canina, Lia was and still is very special to me and she had a lovely calm sweet nature, Lia's only fault was she was a very heavy girl with not only big bones she loved her food so much so after her second and last litter she weighed a massive 48 kg.

Lia produced 2 beautiful litters but both times had to have a Caesarean Section, on Lia's first litter half way through she had whats called a secondary uterine inerthia ( Muscle fatigue of the uterus) the first time this happened could have been a one off, so as a precaution on her second litter I went out to stud to hopefully keep a bitch puppy as if Lia had an inerthia again I had already made the decision Lia was not having anymore litters from her, sadly her second litter was the same and I found myself overcome with emotion as we went through the whole process again, she did have a bitch puppy for me and I named her Georgie she was a beautiful girl with the same lovely nature as her mum, but when she was hip scored she came back to high to be bred from,Georgie now lives with my children Godparents in Eastbourne and we see her most days out on our walks.

After Lia's second litter I found it very difficult to get her weight off and as this was bad for her heaIth I made the difficult decsion to rehome Lia, I had been contacted by Nick and Chrissy Ward from Seaford some months before as they were looking for an older girl, I had met Nick and Chrissy several months earlier as they had an Ella daughter. I knew Nick and Chrissy would be the perfect home for Lia and how right I was again Lia is perfect for them and her weight is now down to 40kg, well done you. Thank you Lia for being my perfect girl, I love and miss you loads XXX
