KIRA'S DIARY 2

03/01/10

Kira has had her puppies between 5.42pm and 11.58pm today, she has four girls and two boys, sadly we lost a boy as he had come out of his bag and became stuck

Puppies are all fantastic weights ranging from 1lb 1oz to 1lb 3oz.

All puppies are doing very well and gaining weight very quickly. They are all over 2lb and have doubled their birth weights

Puppies are now going a little longer between feeds and tomorrow should be about one and a half hours

Puppies will have their nails cut today, they have black noses now and black paws. They have beautiful pigmentation and I am really pleased with this mating and looking forward to seeing them grow into stunning puppies and adults

Next weekend puppies should have their eyes open and should be able to hear

Puppies are 2 weeks today, they are now up on their feet and begining to walk around like little drunks!!!
Puppies are now barking and making themselves jump then they fall over with a look of "What was that noise?" This is very funny to watch, Puppies ear canals have opened and they can now hear.
Feeding at the milk bar!!! Puppies are now being fed by Kira every two hours, tomorrow I will introduce them to puppy porridge and begin to wean them.

Puppies have been wormed today as you can see by the pink mouth. We will see you next week with some more picture's of how we are growing

24/01/10

Puppies are now 3 weeks old today; this is one of my beautiful girls, Puppies have now all been wormed and they are now all eating puppy porridge, today they will have scrambled egg and goats milk.
One of the boys> Kira continues to be a fantastic mum as always. Puppies now weigh between 4lb 2 oz and 5lb 3oz, bless them.
Having a little nose over the whelping box, they are now wanting attention from everyone they see but they still continue to sleep for most of the time.

Keeping an eye on what i am doing!!!
This week puppies will start their weaning process and by next Sunday they should be upto 4 meals a day. Next Sunday all puppies will meet their new families, but as I am keeping one of the girls they won't be able to pick until they are 6 weeks and Marlene comes to help me choose.

Here are picture's of all the puppies individually.Puppies are now 4 weeks and 1 day, they were wormed for the second time yesterday.

Puppies are now on four meals a day, they are enjoying their meals but still love having their milk from mummy.

Puppies are now playing with their new toys and enjoying their new found freedom coming out of the whelping box to play!!!

Puppies have now met all their new owners and I am pleased to say everybody said as I have said they are all like peas in a pod

Puppies new owners are all lovely people and I am so glad once again they are all going to the best homes possible

This week puppies will be spending a lot more time playing out of the whelping box with us all, something they will enjoy FREEDOM!!!! It would be nice to take them outside to enjoy the fresh air but I think at the moment its to fresh for them

Puppies are 5 weeks today, this is one of my girls. Puppies no longer enjoy being in the whelping box and spend all day out of it and free running in the dining room (well what was my dining room!!!)

Puppies are loving their food; they are on four meals a day. They are on Beta puppy with something added i.e scrambled egg, Tripe, tins of butchers tripe puppy, complete with evaporated milk or goats milk

Kira continues, as always, to be a fantastic mother, although she no longer sleeps with them or stays with them all day (my choice not hers) If it was her choice she would still be with them 24/7 but I have to look after her to and to let her stay with them all the time would take its toll on her body. Kira still feeds her puppies after every meal and before we all go to bed.

I still haven't choosen my puppy and because they all look so alike it's much harder. I was hoping they were going to look a bit different by now but no. Waiting for Marlene to come and help me pick, I think it will be one of the hardest decisions I will ever make because they are all so beautiful; maybe I should keep them all!!!!

Puppies are 6 weeks today

All puppies have been wormed again, they are all still feeding from Kira after their meals. This will be reduced from tomorrow to twice a day, Wednesday night will be their last feed from mummy
One of my lovely girls, this week I will find out which puppy I will be keeping as Marlene is coming on Tuesday to help me decide. Puppies are going for their vet check and 1st vaccination tomorrow (Monday Morning). Thursday evening they are having their ear tattoos and on Saturday they are all off to their new homes with their lovely new families, lovely for them but not nice for me. This litter have been a truly wonderful litter and I will be very very sad to see them go
Lovely Oscar as he will be known, and he will be living in Plumpton

Playtime with mummy, something that is truly magical to watch, and again Kira has been fantastic, as always, as a mother and I am sure she will be very happy to have one of her little girls here to look after.

How sad today all puppies went off to their new homes and as usual I cried like a baby!!! One day I just might get used to them going)

Maddie is staying home here with her mum and us, and hopefully Kira will enjoy helping me bring Maddie up and she will turn into a wonderful girl like her lovely mum Kira and one day follow in her mum's footsteps.

I hope all my babies enjoy their new lives with their lovely new owners and they bring you all the joy and happiness they brought Kira and myself x x x
